are a band formed by three of the most experienced musicians in the South East, all sharing a great love and respect for the music of Jimi Hendrix and Cream.
Neil Roberts is the former main man, lead guitarist and vocalist for the band 'Blacksheep', a blues rock band that held a healthy respect on the circuit for many years. Neil was quoted as saying "I have had this project on the back burner for a long time and now that 'Blacksheep' has finally been put out to grass, its full steam ahead with the Freak Flag project". And this, our first project is to cover the incredible 60s rock music of Cream and Hendrix.
Drummer David Driver says "I have been waiting for this band for about 30 years. We have looked at the original Cream records and mixed the original material with their recent Albert Hall reunion gigs in order to truly replicate their music". Bass player and backing vocalist John Delipps, commented "it's challenging trying to decipher the original Hendrix recordings, and rehearsals have been a full on experience!".

The last word must come from Neil: "we are not a tribute band as such, but trying to use our versatility as musicians to cover various projects, this being our first. But most importantly do justice to the material".
'Judging by the reaction at gigs Freak Flag are doing just that, with true hardcore fans being highly complementary and very supportive of the exciting and powerful live show. The diary is looking good for next year, with gigs in Europe looming. Freak Flag are a band certainly 'not' at the 'Crossroads'.
